About Us

Dr. Ana Mesquita - Co-Founder & Strategic Lead

Dr. Ana Mesquita contributes over 10 years of scientific research, project management, and grant development experience to Ironfeast Media. Throughout her career, she has built an extensive grant portfolio spanning multiple federal agencies, working across biomedical informatics, artificial intelligence applications, and life sciences.
Her research background includes positions at Baylor College of Medicine focusing on Biomedical Informatics Research, innovative work at Singulomics Corporation in next-generation sequencing, and research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in genetics. She has also served as Professor of Bioinformatics at Sarah Lawrence College, developing curricula in AI, CRISPR/Cas9, and data science.
Dr. Mesquita earned her PhD in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and holds advanced degrees from the University of Porto. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals with over 3,000 citations, and she has received grants including the American Heart Association Postdoctoral Grant and Future of Science Grant.
Her expertise in translating complex scientific concepts into clear, actionable strategies and her proven track record in stakeholder engagement position Ironfeast Media to deliver effective grant consulting and strategic communication services.

João Pereira - Co-Founder & Technical Lead

João brings over 15 years of software engineering expertise to Ironfeast Media, with extensive experience in cloud platforms, application development, and technical leadership. As a Senior Software Engineer and Technical Lead at VMware Tanzu (formerly Broadcom/Pivotal), he led the packaging and installation of enterprise platforms and designed solutions for the Carvel tool suite.
His career spans multiple industries, from telecommunications work at Portugal Telecom and Ericsson Telecom to database development at Greenplum Database and agile software development at Pivotal Labs. At Hubert Company, he modernized e-commerce platforms and implemented continuous integration processes, while his open-source contributions demonstrate his commitment to collaborative development.
João holds a Master's degree in Computer and Telematic Engineering from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. His experience mentoring developers through Agile Ventures for over a decade reflects his dedication to knowledge sharing and community building. He brings this combination of technical expertise and collaborative approach to Ironfeast Media's streaming and media solutions.
